Antec to offer Cemen Tech volumetric concrete units

New distribution agreement aiming to fill a gap in the market for flexible short run concrete supply

Concrete pumping and mixing equipment supplier Antec Concrete has been appointed the Australian distributor of Cemen Tech volumetric concrete mixers.

A volumetric concrete mixer has separate compartments for sand, stone, cement and water and can be truck or trailer-mounted or as a stationary unit. Materials are mixed on a job site to produce the exact amount of concrete needed.

US-based Cemen Tech is the world’s largest manufacturer of volumetric proportioning and continuous concrete mixing equipment and has been in operation for 50 years. Antec, which has been operating in Australia for 30 years supplying the building, industrial and mining sectors, sees the range as a great fit for the company.

“We will focus on educating the industry about the benefits of these versatile mixers, and we’ll back this up with training, readily available spare parts, equipment servicing and guidance on mix designs and marketing,” said Antec Group Managing Director, John Clare.

He said volumetric mixers enable contractors to produce the right amount of concrete at the right time and can help with quality control.

“Volumetric mixers make it easier to manage short loads and longer travel times than the current ready-mix supply. Plus, the quality of the concrete produced is equal or superior to the standard ready-mix product according to the testing that we’ve undertaken,” he said.

Clare added the concreting sector is currently a $9 billion industry, and is expected to grow.

“There’s a boom in transport and infrastructure projects which are predicted to grow to $17 billion under construction by 2020, so it’s an ideal time to be offering our market a new option,” he said.

Connor Deering, CEO/President of Cemen Tech, said the distribution agreement will help Cemen Tech grow its global business.

“We know the clearest path to success is partnering with knowledgeable, dependable dealers who can expand the number of businesses using volumetric concrete mixers and provide the local support to keep our customers running,” he said.

Antec has appointed a dedicated Business Development Manager, Todd Burton to focus on the Cemen Tech volumetric units.
