Most fans of the Caterpillar brand may not be able to own and operate a real earthmoving machine, but LEGO’s latest release may be the next best thing.
LEGO has unveiled its Cat D11 bulldozer kit that fans can not only build but also control using an app, allowing them to drive and steer the dozer, tilt the blade, raise the ripper and lower the ladder.
The new release is part of LEGO’S Technic range which consists of highly technical and detailed building kits more suitable for adults. With 3854 pieces to assemble, this Cat dozer build is not for the faint-hearted or impatient.
The completed model measures over 26cm in height and 37cm in width, with LEGO claiming to have replicated every single D11 detail to a T in its new release - down to the colour, graphics, tracks, nuts, sprockets and even fire surpression system at the rear.
Once the model is completed, builders can install AA batteries into the dozer and use LEGO’s CONTROL+ app to operate the ‘machine’. They can drive and steer, lower and tilt the blade, lower and raise the rear ripper, as well as lift or lower the ladder, giving fans as close an experience as they can get to operating a real machine.
Not only that, the LEGO Cat D11 also features adjustable tracks which builders can tighten or loosen, just like the real deal!
LEGO’s Cat D11 dozer model is slated for release on October 1, 2021 and will retail for $749.99.
