Atlas Copco releases compact Series 8 compressors
New range up to 150kg lighter than comparable models on the market, Atlas Copco claimsThe new XAS 88 Kd range of portable compressors by Atlas Copco is now available in Australia via distributor, Redstar Equipment.
The new series offers 10 models that can all be towed behind a normal passenger car and weigh less than 750kg.
“For the first time, it’s possible to transport a compressor that can produce up to five cubic-metre/min of air, with a full-size fuel tank, aftercooler and generator – all towed behind a normal passenger car, with no special driving license required,” says Redstar Equipment Sales Manager, David Buttigieg.
“This is all made possible by Atlas Copco producing a compressor which is up to 150kg lighter than comparable models. They’ve also reduced service time, fuel consumption and increased utilisation.”
The new Series 8 compressors feature Atlas Copco’s HardHat canopy that ensures durability in the harshest conditions.
“Your downtime will be at a minimum, with under 60 minutes’ service time and the compressor oil service only required once every two years,” Buttigieg says.
He adds the new Series 8 units are also 12 per cent more fuel efficient and have a 15 per cent smaller footprint than other models on the market.
Standard features include the HardHat canopy, Kubota engine, anti-air lock system and battery cut-off switch. Options include adjustable tow bar, fixed towbar, support leg, jockey wheel and more.
