Atlas Copco twin power generator unveiled

New QAC 1100 model features two generators in one unit for maximum power and efficiency

Atlas Copco has announced the arrival of its QAC 1100 Twin Power Generator in Australia.

The six metre containerised unit features two 500kVA generators inside and is suited for applications with variable power needs, whether it’s due to the time of day or usage requirements.

According to Australian distributor, Redstar Equipment, the QAC 1100 is also great for when backup power supply is needed.

“The QAC 1100 is perfect for portable applications that require intensive use such as on civil, construction, government, industrial, mining and rental sites,” says Redstar Equipment General Manager Sales, Kevin Ennis.

“The greatest advantage that the QAC 1100 generator offers our customers is the two generators in one platform. This gives you flexibility because you can run this generator at 100 per cent power load or lower power loads.

“This ensures that you will meet your energy requirements in the most efficient way.”

The QAC 1100 comes with robust lifting eyes and forklift inlets for quick handling and transportation.

Redstar Equipment adds the generator has been put through rigorous testing in severe operating conditions to ensure durability.

“Air, oil and fuel filters for heavy work and rust free, easy to clean fuel allows for a lower risk of breakdown,” Ennis says.

“The spillage free frame reduces any potential environmental impact. It can contain 110 per cent of the fluid capacity of the generator.”

Servicing the Atlas Copco QAC 1100 Twin Power is made easy with large access doors and custom service tools.

“To tackle even bigger jobs, the QAC 1100 portable generator with the two QC 4003 controllers can run alone or alongside other generators,” Ennis adds.

“You have the choice of island mode or power management system. You can run the generator in parallel with mains, peak shaving, mains power export or import, fixed power and automatic mains failure.”
