CEA to take on Australian SANY excavator distribution across key states

New arrangement commenced in January 2026 with product expected to roll in from February

Australian equipment distributor CEA has been appointed as a distributor for SANY excavators across key states, with operations set to commence in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia from January 2026.

The move adds a broad range of SANY excavators, spanning approximately one to 90 tonnes, to CEA’s growing portfolio, as the business continues to pursue growth across core construction and earthmoving segments.

CEA CEO, Hylton Taylor, said the appointment aligns closely with the company’s recent investments and expansion strategy.

“Over the past six years CEA has opened three new multi-million-dollar purpose-built facilities in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, diversified our product offering and now, with the addition of SANY, will strengthen our line-up with an extensive range of excavators,” Taylor said.

CEA said the partnership will enhance its ability to support a wide customer base with competitively priced machinery suited to the demands of Australia’s mature excavator market. Product is expected to arrive at CEA branches from February 2026.

Founded in 1989, SANY is a major global supplier of excavators, with R&D centres and manufacturing operations across China, the United States, Germany, India and Brazil. Its Shanghai, Lingang and Kunshan facilities alone have a combined annual production capacity exceeding 80,000 units.

Putzmeister Asia Pacific CEO, Michael Schmid-Lindenmayer, welcomed the partnership, highlighting CEA’s established market presence and local expertise as key strengths for the brand’s Australian growth plans.

CEA said the SANY appointment positions the business to challenge the local excavator market with a mix of build quality, pricing competitiveness and aftermarket support as operations ramp up in early 2026.
