CJD Equipment has successfully collected and donated $47,000 to Beyond Blue, following a five-month campaign to raise funds for important mental health services.
“Mental health has been a significant issue in our industry, affecting many Australians and now more than ever, organisations like Beyond Blue are providing vital support to people experiencing depression, anxiety and other mental health conditions,” CJD Equipment said.
Earlier this year, CJD Equipment committed to donating $1000 for every general-purpose excavator sold between February 1 and June 30. The company said all funds raised have been donated directly to the Beyond Blue Support Service.
“It costs $48 to answer one call to the Beyond Blue Support Service, which equates to 979 people directly helped by this donation,” CJD Equipment said.
Beyond Blue Chief Community Officer, Patrice O’Brien, expressed gratitude for the donation.
“Together you have helped ensure that every contact at the Beyond Blue Support Service is answered,” she said.
“The support service gives every person in Australia the opportunity to talk through his or her personal concerns with a trained mental health professional.”
CJD Equipment Managing Director, Alan Barnett, said the company is equally thrilled with the result of the fundraising initiative.
“Thank you to Volvo Construction Equipment for your involvement in this initiative, to our customers for choosing CJD Equipment and Volvo machines to support their business and thank you to the CJD team, for helping us to reach our goals in order to make such a wonderful contribution to a great cause.”
“CJD are committed to maintaining a workplace that prioritises the health and wellbeing of our people, customers and the communities in which we operate.
“We are proud to support such a worthy cause that is so in line with our values.”
