Materials handling specialist Crown Equipment has given its entry-level two to three-tonne GX forklift series a facelift by giving it a new look, new control layout and a new counterweight to improve airflow.
The new GX Plus range offers customers several diesel and LPG engine choices and now comes with a completely redesigned counterweight to maximise cooling capacity as well as modernise the machines’ appearance.
The improved cooling capacity, combined with a dual-element air cleaner, helps both engines provide reliable performance between service intervals.
A new, easy-to-read instrument panel in the operator’s station displays information such as coolant and transmission oil temperatures; fuel level and operating hours for easier maintenance and monitoring.
Other in-cab features including generous legroom, ergonomically-located pedals, low cowl height and overhead guard are kept in the GX Plus series.
It also retains the reliable 3.3-litre Yanmar Tier 3 diesel engine offering 59hp, and the 2.5-litre Mitsubishi LPG engine, which produces 61hp.
“The GX Series has always been a tough truck and it remains so as the GX Plus Series,” says Crown Equipment’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Craig Kenchington.
“The GX Plus Series offers the level of reliability, performance and operator-focused ergonomics typically available from Crown, but at an entry price that makes it attractive to companies that don’t run their forklifts all day and might otherwise be considering a secondhand unit.
“Its improved ergonomics have made it a stronger proposition for both operators and owners while its improved cooling performance makes it better suited to working in hot Australian conditions.”
