DDT announces new venue

Leading construction and earthmoving show to move to Eastern Creek this year

After four years of being held at the Penrith Panthers Rugby Leagues Club, the National Diesel Dirt and Turf (DDT) expo is moving to the Sydney Dragway in Eastern Creek in 2020.

The premier earthmoving expo will be held from October 16 to 18 this year, following a postponement from its original dates in May due to COVID-19.

Located at Ferrers Road, the Sydney Dragway offers 8.4 hectares of flat, all-weather asphalt surface – a larger expo area compared to the Penrith venue.

There is also easy access to power and other infrastructure, expansive car parking, machinery demonstration site and indoor pavilion facilities of a similar size and configuration as those at Penrith, organisers said.

"We have had a fantastic response from our sponsors and exhibitors to the Sydney Dragway,” said DDT expo manager Marti Zivkovich.

“This is a great chance to adopt a new improved and fresh look to what is already Australia's most successful earthmoving expo to accommodate the growing number of exhibitors and the need for larger sites to exhibit machinery and services.

"We are particularly pleased that we now have a very large expo area of 84,000 square metres which is large enough to accommodate the demands of many exhibitors who are looking to expand their stand space compared with previous years.”

Other convenience features include a 24-hour bump-in bump-out facility and excellent outdoor lighting and security which will enable exhibitors to move equipment and exhibition structures in and out of the venue in the most efficient manner.

Return of show favorites

Organisers can confirm that the popular Operators Challenge will be back this year. It involves operators competing in either an excavator or loader challenge with the chance to win big cash prizes.

The Pickles auction will also make a return this year with a huge range of gear on offer.

Other show attractions include performances by the Freestyle Kings motor bike stunt team, Little Big Rigs, music entertainment, licensed bar and facilities.
