Deere 850L dozer to arrive in Oz by 2020

New dozer boasts 10 per cent boost in power and uses less fuel compared to predecessor, Deere claimed

Newly minted John Deere Construction Equipment distributor, RDO Equipment, has announced the addition of the 850L dozer to its stable of offerings that will be available to Australian customers in the new year.

According to RDO Equipment, the new dozer is “best in class”, offering a 20 per cent saving in fuel consumption and 10 per cent increase in engine power when compared to the John Deere K series model.

A PowerTech PSS 9.0L diesel engine powers the 850L dozer, offering an output of 225hp.

With an operating weight of up to 23,299kg, the 850L is also eight per cent heavier than its predecessor, allowing it to move 30 per cent more material in a grading operation, RDO Equipment said.

“The 850L Dozer boasts the productivity, reliability, and durability customers expect in a production dozer,” said RDO Equipment General Manager of Sales, Mark Kuhn.

“This model was specifically designed using customer feedback, and with that, we welcome the next generation of Deere dozers that are our strongest, most durable and productive dozers yet.”

The 850L also features improved electrical and hydraulic routing and a heavy-duty mainframe with increased thickness of up to 60 per cent in some areas to meet the toughest demands on a worksite, Kuhn added.

“Inside the cab, there is also 15 per cent more space and interior operator noise is reduced by 27 per cent when compared to the John Deere K-Series model,” Kuhn said.

A new heated and ventilated seat option is available for increased operator comfort. Other options on the 850L include a rear camera, automatic temperature control, a new angled seat and new air-conditioning system.

The Power-Angle-Tilt (PAT) blade on the 850L has a width of 172 inches which John Deere claimed is the widest in its class. The wide blade helps operators push more dirt in a day.

Kuhn said the new dozer will be among the first of a range of new construction equipment available to Australian customers within the next six to 12 months.

He said the new 850L dozer will be backed by RDO service experts and field technicians.

“Our customers are in good hands with a team of experts, as well as dedicated customer support and well-equipped service centres," he said.

“I know our Australian customers are excited to have these on our shores, and our service and parts teams are also excited and ready to welcome them and assist with any queries.”
