It is the dawn of a new era for Korean construction equipment company, HD Hyundai Infracore (formerly Hyundai Doosan Infracore) as it announced it is getting rid of the name Doosan and is replacing it with ‘DEVELON’ along with a whole new image.
The new brand name was announced earlier this year and several new pieces of equipment were recently unveiled at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG construction trade expo held in Las Vegas from March 14 to 18.
The rebrand comes after Hyundai Construction Equipment acquired a 35 per cent stake at Doosan Infracore and renamed the company Hyundai Doosan Infracore in August 2021.
In March 2023, the company removed ‘Doosan’ from its name and is now known as HD Hyundai Infracore.

According to the company, DEVELON is a combination of the words ‘Develop,’ and ‘Onwards’, reflecting the company’s desire to move onward to the future through innovation.
HD Hyundai Infracore said it has planned the launch of the new brand since it became a subsidiary of HD Hyundai in August 2021. With the new brand, the company hopes to take a big step forward to becoming a global top-tier player in the construction equipment industry.
“The three construction equipment businesses have already solidified its status as one of the key business pillars of HD Hyundai and has built an unwavering foundation for achieving performance targets and creating synergistic effects among each other, amid the rapidly changing global economic environment,” said HD Hyundai Infracore CEO, Cho Young-cheul.
“DEVELON will lead the future market of electrification and automation to spur growth and become a brand with more confidence among our customers.”
Keeping true to its word and vision, the company showcased a couple of innovative unmanned concepts - more specifically a driverless excavator and dozer- at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.

HD Hyundai Infracore also showcased a new compact track loader and a 22-ton excavator equipped with an electronic hydraulic system at the show.
While its concepts sported a futuristic grey and black colour scheme with orange stripes, its conventional machines still retained Doosan’s signature orange paint but with the new DEVELON logo.
