After logging over 8000 hours of hard work on a fleet of Takeuchi TB016 compact excavators, Melbourne-based plumbing and drainage contractor VT Group thought it was time for an upgrade.
The company's positive experience with Takeuchi has led it to purchase eight new TB210R 1.2-tonne excavators to continue with its work.
Based in Keilor East, VT Group supplies plumbing and drainage services to major residential developers across the city’s northern regions, as well as outer growth areas of Geelong, Werribee and Whittlesea.
"Our core business was previously focused on drainage works," says VT Group director, Heath Peatling.
"Having recently merged with a plumbing specialist, we are now a comprehensive supplier of drainage and plumbing services that include pre-slab sewer and storm water, internal plumbing and retention systems.
"As a significant supplier of underground and above ground services to major residential developers, it is important that we have the latest equipment to perform work efficiently and on time to ensure other trades and services have site access."
According to Peatling, VT Group's fleet of TB016 excavators have performed up to the company's expectations.
"Because these excavators were very reliable and easy to maintain and repair, many had logged over 8000 hours of hard labour and it was time to replace these and evaluate which machine would be best for our business efficiency.
"As the demands of residential construction have become tighter and more challenging, we found the new 1.2 tonne TB 210R model was a perfect size for us. The machines fit through all tight areas and are used for final finish and trench repair work."
The Takeuchi brand of construction equipment is distributed in Australia by Semco Equipment Sales.
Semco Director, Graham Murphy, says the TB210R's nimble qualities have made it a very popular model among contractors.
"The TB210R had proven a success for many contractors who needed a powerful, versatile mini excavator that was able to be easily towed on a trailer behind a light utility vehicle," he says.
