Motorsport fans will soon see Hastings Deering’s name and logo splashed across 22-year-old racing driver Harri Jones’ car and race suit at the upcoming 2022 Porsche Carrera Cup season due to commence in April in conjunction with the Australian F1 Grand Prix.
Hailing from the Sunshine Coast, QLD, Jones has had quite the career in motorsports despite his young age.
So far, he has already racked up two Championship Wins, 42 Race Wins and 79 Podiums. In 2021, Harri placed third overall in the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup with the 2022 season shaping up to be the pinnacle of his junior career.
Coincidentally, 2022 is also a massive year for Queensland-based Hastings Deering, as the company marks 90 years in business.
From humble beginnings in 1932, Hastings Deering has grown to be an international company of more than 3500 employees and one of the top Cat dealers globally.
“We are proud to be part of Harri’s journey, reinforcing our support to provide opportunities for Queensland’s best young talent, both on the racetrack and in the communities in which we operate,” said Hastings Deering Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mark Scott.
“With many of our staff and customers being motorsport enthusiasts, this is an exciting partnership for our business.
“We welcome Harri to the Hastings Deering family and look forward to riding with him every step of the way throughout the 2022 season.”
Harri’s new 992 Generation Cup car will be referred to as the 'Hastings Deering Porsche Carrera Cup Car', with Hastings Deering to feature on the door and bonnet, as well as on Harri’s race suit as part of a spectacular new-look livery.
“I’m so excited to be working with Hastings Deering this year,” Jones said.
“They’re a Queensland-based company that love all things performance and machinery, and they have a really passionate team that believes strongly in backing local young talent like me.
“It’s always fantastic to work with great partners and I feel really fortunate to be able to continue building on my career with the support of such a strong team behind me.”
As one of the largest employers in Queensland, Hastings Deering is proud to support Jones, who off the track is studying a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Queensland, where he maintains a top GPA alongside his motorsport and work commitments.
