Whether they own a new or used machine (or both), equipment owners want to ensure they get maximum return on investment on their purchases and keep their machines running for as long as possible.
Understanding the importance of a hassle-free machine ownership experience, Caterpillar has launched Customer Value Agreements (CVAs) in Australia to help Cat machine owners make the most of their equipment.
Caterpillar is making CVA available not just for owners currently paying off their new or used machines, but also for operators who already own their Cat equipment outright.
Here are a few ways a Cat CVA can help customers maximise uptime and productivity:
When your machine is due for a service or you need certain components replaced, a Cat CVA ensures the parts you need will arrive at your doorstep on schedule so you can minimise downtime and push on with your job in no time.
According to Caterpillar, genuine Cat parts will extend component life, providing operators with additional peace of mind.

For operators, there’s nothing worse than machines breaking down mid-job, leading to increased downtime and job delays.
Worse still, operators may try to fix the machine themselves, which may cause further damage to the machine or even endanger the operator.
A Cat CVA provides customers with access to expert support when they need it. This is available not only for customers who bought their machines new with a standard warranty, but also for those who bought used Cat equipment.
An Equipment Protection Plan (EPP), available with the CVA, provides troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair services using genuine Cat parts and helps Cat customers avoid unexpected repair costs if they experience an issue with major components or technology in their machines.
Customers with a Cat CVA will be given full access to the Cat app, My.Cat.com, and Cat Inspect, placing key machinery info in the palm of their hands.
Through those platforms, operators will be able to monitor machine stats such as hours and location. They will also be able to keep an eye on machine health indicators, such as fluid analysis, which allows them to act on any issues or requirements as soon as they arise.
From there, customers can take further action via the platforms such as ordering machine parts.
Best of all, users can access the portals and info from anywhere on site, or anywhere in the world via their mobile devices, giving them peace of mind that their machines are working as they should.

While expert dealer support is available to help fix more specific problems or answer more detailed questions, a Cat CVA will also provide customers with access to a library of useful tips, advice and easy parts instructions.
That way, customers can deal with easy maintenance requirements or fix minor issues themselves without having to pick up the phone.
Understanding that different customers will have different requirements, needs and budgets, Caterpillar does not have a ‘one size fits all’ solution with its CVA product, instead letting customers design a solution that ticks their own boxes.
Customers can speak to their local Cat dealer to customise a CVA product that works for them, such as plans included in the product, the duration of the CVA, and the type of equipment they wish to cover.
