Italian truck maker IVECO will highlight two of its off-road big hitters at next week’s Drillfest expo, due to be held in the Queensland city of Toowoomba over October 18 and 19.
The brand will have both its recently launched T-Way 6x6 and its ASTRA HD9 8x8 in attendance, showcasing two of its most prominent off-road trucks with clear benefits for applications like drilling and oil/mineral exploration, among other extreme theatres.

Available in 4x4, 6x6, and 8x4 variants, IVECO says the T-Way brings next-gen technology to its off-road range, including Euro6 (Step E) power.
The T-Way AD 6x6 model to be shown at Drillfest is powered by a 12.9-litre engine producing a claimed 450hp (331kW) and 2200Nm, the latter from a low 870rpm. The engine is coupled with ZF’s Hi-Tronix automated manual transmission, which in the case of the display truck has been specified in a 16-speed format.
A rear engine PTO is standard, while the T-Way AD 4x4 and 6x6 models come with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including a full air electronic braking system, drum ABS and traction control, a hill holders, LED headlights with cornering fog lights, daytime running lamps, a transmission intarder and engine brake, and a cab that meets the ECE-R29.03 certification for strength.
Tyre pressure monitoring and a lane departure warning system are factory options.
Drivers also benefit from the comfortable and ergonomic cab, which is derived from IVECO’s S-Way range, and from the truck’s tough off-road ability, thanks to its triple diff locks, hub-reduction drive axles, and full-time drive system.

Meanwhile, the ASTRA HD9 8x8 boasts a monster 48-tonne GVM and 70-tonne GCM, giving it huge payload-carrying ability.
With massive ground clearance, this 8x8 truck features diff locks on all axles, while it rides on rugged front parabolic springs and rear parabolic cantilever suspension.
The HD9’s engine produces a claimed 480hp and 2300Nm (520hp/2400Nm rating also available), and is mated to a ZF Hi-Tronix 12-speed AMT.
IVECO will be found at stand OS6 at Drillfest, which will be held over October 18 and 19 at the Royal Toowoomba Showgrounds.
