JCB Hydradig scoops up more awards

JCB’s innovative Hydradig wheeled excavator has just been named Rental Product of the Year at the European Rental Awards in Vienna, as well as Best New Product at the Australian Hire and Rental Industry Awards, bringing the Hydradig's awards tally so far to an impressive nine.

Released in Australia in mid-2017, the Hydradig has turned heads with its ground-breaking design offering panoramic views from the cab.

Earlier this year, JCB Construction Equipment Australia decided to introduce a new variation of the Hydradig 110W with the option of a rear-mounted parallel dozer blade with front stabilisers off the back of customer feedback. It also features JCB’s patented Smooth Ride System (SRS) for a more efficient operation and smoother ride.

The Hydradig features a compact design that allows it to dig, lift and load in urban environments.

JCB Group Managing Director Global Key Accounts, Yvette Henshall-Bell, said JCB’s vision with the Hydradig was to address five key challenges facing customers in today’s construction sector: visibility, stability, manoeuvrability, mobility and serviceability.

“The Hydradig has completely changed the wheeled tool carrier concept and we are delighted the rental industries in Europe and Australia have given recognition to a JCB product which is perfect for their needs,” she said.

Commenting on the award scooped up by Hydradig, the European Rental Awards judges said: “JCB works closely with rental companies when developing new products, and the Hydradig shows that partnership approach in action.”
