John Deere 750L dozer debuts in Oz

New series dozer features comfort, weight and performance upgrades, according to local dealer, RDO Equipment

According to John Deere, its L-series dozers are a big step up from the K-series with a variety of enhancements to provide better comfort and improved productivity.

Local John Deere construction equipment dealer, RDO Equipment, had the brand new 750L dozer on display at the Diesel Dirt and Turf show in Sydney in April 2021.

The 750L is powered by a new Tier 4 Final John Deere PowerTech engine offering 175hp.

A key upgrade on the new machine, RDO Equipment said, is a more ergonomic and comfortable cab for operators to work in.

“A key point would be the openness of the cab, so getting in and out of the cab is really easy,” said RDO Equipment’s Peter Dover.

“The levers are also set at a comfortable level and ergonomically placed so the operator can do a full day's work, get out and go back in the next day quite comfortably.”

The electrohydraulic controls in the cab mean operators can control the machine with minimal effort, hence reducing fatigue and improving productivity.

Other tech offerings include the optional SmartGrade system with Slope Control, which is John Deere’s mastless system providing intelligent and automatic blade control according to load for higher productivity in a grading operation.

The 750L comes with two blade options – a PAT (Power Angle Tilt) blade or a Semi-U Outside Dozer blade. Blade widths can go up to 161-inch (PAT blade configuration) to allow operators to push more dirt and make fewer passes on larger jobsites.

In addition to the upgrades, the 750L has carried over some tried and tested functions of the K-series dozers, such as the dual path hydrostatic drive, Dover said.

Daily checks are also easily and safely done from the ground with all maintenance points grouped at ground level, Dover added.

The 750L and 850L in the L-series come factory fitted with a rear ripper for the Australian market.
