Following the amendment of engine emission regulations last year, which requires EPA licensed businesses in NSW to purchase machines that meet Tier-4 final emission standards, Kobelco has released its Tier-4 Final excavator range to cater to those requirements.
The Kobelco Tier-4 Final line-up will cover a wide range, from four tonnes all the way up to 100 tonnes. Certain models including the 20-tonne, 25-tonne, 30-tonne and 35-tonne models will be available with the Trimble Earthworks system which has been designed to take the hard work out of cutting and grading operations for operators.
“Kobelco has a long history of pioneering fuel-efficient technology that balances environmental initiatives in its excavator line,” said Kobelco Australia General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Doug McQuinn.
“This new range of Tier-4 Final compliant excavators is the next step in our pioneering evolution.”
Kobelco’s Tier-4 compliant engine is fitted with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and an SCR device to control emissions without using a diesel particulate filter (DPF).
It has a large-capacity DEF/Urea tank that extends intervals between fill-ups. According to Kobelco, this results in a nitrogen oxide(NOx) reduction rate of about 88 per cent compared to previous models.
“We anticipate increased demand in the Australian market for Tier 4 Final excavators,” he said.
“Kobelco’s independent and experienced dealer network means that when buying excavators, customers can receive and depend on quality advice and service.”
Kobelco offers comprehensive warranties for its products. Mini excavators up to 5.5 tonnes have 4-year or 4000-hours full warranty, while excavators seven tonnes and over have two years or 3000 hours full factory warranty. Kobelco’s heavy excavators come with four years or 6000 hours EPT warranty.
