Limited-edition Ford Ranger Tradie released

Blue Oval keeps the Ranger specials coming with an XL 4x4 dual-cab aimed at tradies

Fresh from releasing the Ford Ranger Wildtrak XFX4 Max and XLT 4x4 Double Cab Chassis over the past few months, Ford Australia has now announced a special-edition Ranger aimed squarely at the worksite.

Based on the cheapest Ranger 4x4 twin-cab pick-up (the five-cylinder 3.2-litre turbo-diesel XL 4x4 Double Cab Pick-Up priced at $48,990 plus on-road costs as a manual), the 2021.25MY Ranger 4x4 XL Tradie is priced at just $47,990 drive-away with an automatic transmission as standard.

What’s more, the Ford Ranger Tradie – a limited-run special that’s only available only until sold out – comes with a range of factory-fitted components aimed at commercial vehicle buyers.

These include a genuine Ford black nudge bar, Lumen 20.5-inch slimline LED light bar, unique 16-inch black alloy wheels, black side steps, bedliner and tow bar.

Paint colour options include Arctic White (pictured), True Red and, for an extra $650, prestige hues Meteor Grey, Aluminium Silver, Blue Lightning or Shadow Black.

Of course, like all versions of Australia’s top-selling 4x4 ute, the Tradie comes with high- and low-range gear ratios, an 800mm wading capacity, SYNC 3 infotainment with 8.0-inch touch-screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 15,000km/12-month service intervals, a five-year/unlimited-km warranty and a five-star ANCAP safety rating.

Also standard across the Ford Ranger line-up is autonomous emergency braking (AEB), the FordPass Connect embedded modem and the Ford Service Benefits program including $299 scheduled services for the first four years/60,000km, service loan car and auto club membership including roadside assistance.

“Our 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbo-diesel is proven in the marketplace and customers love the engine’s refinement, combined with its durable, workhorse nature,” said Ford Australia and New Zealand president and CEO, Andrew Birkic.
