New distributor appointed for John Deere power systems

Power Equipment to distribute John Deere industrial and marine engines in Oceania

Following an extensive review of the Power Systems business in the Oceania region, John Deere Power Systems in France has announced the appointment of Melbourne-based Power Equipment as the new distributor for John Deere industrial and marine engines in Australia and New Zealand; as well as Papua New Guinea, Solomon Island, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands and French Polynesia.

The appointment is effective July 1, 2017.

"Power Equipment’s inclusion in the global John Deere Power Systems ‘family’ represents an exciting chapter in the history of Power Systems in Australia and New Zealand, through an expanded dealer network and their dedicated commitment and focus on the engine power sector," John Deere says.

Established in October 1990, Power Equipment is a family owned business specialising in the distribution of marine and industrial engines ranging from 5 to 1800hp.

The company cut its teeth on Yanmar marine and industrial diesel engines, and has expanded over time to include other brands and a wide range of products in its offering including JCB power systems, PSS Shaft Seals, Torqeedo Electric Outboard Motors and more.

Power Equipment’s growth over the years has led to the establishment of branches throughout Australia and New Zealand. It has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Gold Coast and Fremantle (WA) in Australia; and Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand.

John Deere dealers in the Oceania region will continue to support John Deere Power Systems alongside Power Equipment.
