Materials handling specialist, United Forklift and Access Solutions, has announced it is introducing the new Haulotte HT28 RTJ PRO telescopic boom Down Under.
With a maximum outreach of nearly 24m, below ground reach of 3m and ground clearance of 48cm, the boom is suitable for use across a wide range of sectors, including the building, construction, forestry and mining industries.
The HT28 boom offers an optional dual load capacity of 230 to 350kg. In the 350kg mode, the platform can accommodate up to 40 per cent extra equipment weight.
The machine also has an oscillating axle, four-wheel steering, hydraulic differential wheel lock and gradeability up to 45 per cent.
“The latest innovations will bring the productivity and reliability that the Haulotte brand is already known for globally,” says United Forklift and Access Solutions’ National Product Manager - Access Division, Andrew Macdonald.
The HT28 comes with in-built ACTIV’Screen technology that provides real-time diagnostics and can display malfunction resolution, machine settings, maintenance alerts and service intervals on the fully coloured monitor.
With the precise information, operators can avoid unnecessary service calls on rental equipment, hence maximising machine uptime.

The new Haulotte boom also comes with Haulotte’s ACTIV’Shield Bar 2.0, which provides a safety gap to prevent physical crush injuries when the machine is in operation.
To allow work at night, Haulotte has fitted the HT28 with its ACTIV’Lighting System, which illuminates the area around the boom and key points of the machine including controls.
Another key feature of the Haulotte HT28 is the STOP Emissions System that automatically switches off the engine after 90 seconds of idle, reducing running time by up to 20 per cent, and reducing fuel consumption by up to 8 per cent in comparison with Haulotte’s earlier models, according to Macdonald.
He adds the engine’s ability to stop and restart only when required reduces engine use, extends machine life, extends residual value, decreases fuel consumption and lowers operating costs. The HT28 also emits 20 per cent less noise, which allows it to be driven in noise sensitive areas like hospitals and office buildings.
“The innovative safety and sustainability features of the new HT28 make it a truly industry-leading telescopic boom, with useful benefits for a huge range of access applications,” Macdonald says.
