New Holland says its new D Series backhoe loader features a redesigned cab for greater comfort and safety, and a new Stage V engine with industry-leading power and torque, along with reduced emissions.
Recently unveiled in Europe and following in the wheel tracks of the brand’s recently launched D Series wheel loader, New Holland says the new D Series backhoe loader delivers significant benefits in productivity, operator comfort and safety.
A the F36 3.6-litre, four-cylinder engine delivers up to 82kW of power and 460Nm of torque, while its Hi-eSCR2 emissions system utilises selective catalytic reduction, exhaust gas recirculation and a diesel particulate filter to meet stringent Stage V emissions compliance.
Eco mode automatically regulates engine speed and hydraulic pressure when sustained power and speed are not required, delivering a fuel saving of up to 10 per cent, while further gains can be achieved with the Auto Idle feature, which lowers engine speed after more than five seconds on inactivity, and Auto Engine Shutdown, which switches the engine off after three minutes of inactivity.
The new cab, meanwhile, is now wider and offers better access and space, with increased clearance for the operator’s knees and feet when rotating between loader and backhoe operation.
The park brake and stabiliser levers have been relocated and the switches on the right-hand console have been regrouped, with a new F-N-R switch integrated into the loader joystick and a new joystick roller switch for extending dipper operation.
Other cab features include two new USB ports, a 12-volt outlet on the instrument cluster, and a mobile phone holder, while New Holland says the new model offers four times the internal storage compared to the C Series.
And safety is assured thanks to the model’s excellent 360-degree visibility, now enhanced by new rear side glasses, and powerful lighting packages, in addition to ROPS and FOPS certification, stabiliser check valves, backhoe transport lock, safety valves for hydraulic cylinders, and optional front loader check valves, among others.
“Our backhoe loaders are masters of versatility that combine the strength and the efficiency of a compact loader with the precision and the versatility of a real mini excavator,” said Alain de Nanteuil, New Holland Light Equipment Europe Leader.
“They are a real asset for all types of operations, from arable farms to horticultural and landscaping businesses.”
