New LiuGong wheel loader adds technology, capacity and muscle

Wheel loaders are the ultimate definition of versatility, and the burgeoning premium brand from China has added more firepower to its arsenal

LiuGong has introduced a new T model wheel loader onto the Australian market, which represents advanced engineering, technology and performance over its 848H sibling.

The 848T has completed thousands of hours in testing prior to its introduction, with the major focus on heightened power and load capacity, increased fuel efficiency, cab space and visibility, and more streamlined maintenance procedures.

The 848T is powered by an upgraded 133kW (180hp) Cummins B7 engine, allowing it to handle a variety of conditions with increased efficiency.

A liquid-driven cooling system with intelligent fan speed adjustment now has better heat dissipation, furthering its ability in extreme working conditions.?

Fuel tank capacity has increased to 240 litres, while operators can do basic maintenance and top-ups from ground level. Oil changes are required every 2000 hours.

The hydraulic system has been revised, including the conversion from a two- to one-pump combined flow system to increase working pressure.

A fully automatic, electric fixed-axis gearbox now enables smoother gear shifting and power transfer, as well as improving the 848T’s acceleration.

The LiuGong wheel loader also features an optional 2.3 square metre bucket for increased operating efficiency. The bucket’s the same shape as the H model, but 45mm higher.

It comes with movable bucket teeth/blades that are now more convenient to assemble and disassemble, while the main knife plate and side cutting plate have been treated with special processes to ensure longer wear resistance.

“The LiuGong wheel loaders always have had all the features, however, with the new T loader, they have also now reached a new level with the design, putting them above any brand in the market,” said Shannon Bethe from LiuGong Machinery Australia.

“The exterior and cab design, as well as the ergonomics of the cab, including for safety in getting into and out of the loader, have all had a major upgrade – it’s next level of refinement.”

The 848T and 848H (119kW) are joined by the 835H (135kW) and 856H (162kW) in the Australian wheel loader range.
