Developed especially for the NSW construction industry, the latest safety guide by Pro-Visual Publishing is now available with Augmented Reality (AR) content.
Some of the topics it covers include working at heights, working in and around moving or mobile plant, and site electrical requirements.
It details a PCBU's (Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking) obligations under the NSW state regulations to keep workers safe, such as displaying appropriate signage where necessary (near live wires, for example), and ensuring equipment complies with Australian safety standards.
Workers or employers can download the Pro-Vis app to scan and view the interactive AR content. The AR content on this chart illustrates the devastating incidents that could occur at construction sites if precautions are not taken to reduce safety risks.
"Falls from height is the number one cause of fatality or permanent disability in the construction industry," says Pro-Visual Publishing marketing manager, Deanna Davenport.
"By displaying the NSW Construction Site Safety Guide in your construction site, PCBUs should feel confident that they are abiding by their duties and obligations."
The guide has been developed in collaboration with the Master Builders Association of NSW, and is distributed free of charge to all NSW construction firms.
A QLD construction safety guide was released earlier this year, and charts for other states (VIC and WA) will follow in the next few months.
