RDO delivers 100th Deere forestry machine in Australia

John Deere dealer hits massive milestone just two years after establishing its presence in local market

John Deere construction and forestry dealer, RDO Equipment, has successfully sold and delivered its 100th forestry machine in Australia in September - a 959MH tracked harvester to longtime John Deere user, Blackbutt Logging.

The new machine is the latest addition to the forestry business’ expansive fleet of 14 John Deere construction and forestry machines.

Owned and operated by brothers Drew and Todd Reiser, Blackbutt Logging has been purchasing John Deere equipment since their father started the business in the 1980s.

Nowadays, Drew and Todd oversee the operations, and have continued the legacy their father started of working with John Deere, and now their dealer RDO Equipment.

“We’ve never had any issues working with John Deere, and it’s been great working with the RDO Equipment team these past few years,” Drew said.

“They provide us with good, quality gear, that’s backed up with the support we need to keep our entire fleet running.”

The first machine the business purchased from John Deere was a 450C Dozer in the 80s, and after some refurbishments, the machine is still running in the fleet.

“It just shows that these products are built to last,” Drew said.

“It’s no surprise RDO has sold 100 forestry machines in such a short space of time.”

John Deere’s General Manager of Sales and Marketing – Forestry Equipment, Simon Shackleton, congratulated RDO Equipment for its massive achievement.

“We’ve had nothing but positive feedback from customers about RDO Equipment,” Shackleton said.

“They have done well to establish themselves in the Australian market, and I commend them on this great achievement over such a short period of time.

“I want to also congratulate Blackbutt Logging on being part of this special milestone. It’s great to see RDO’s 100th forestry machine sold to a long-standing family business, that has been working with John Deere machines since the beginning.”

Shackleton added RDO Equipment has played an important role in ensuring John Deere customers have increased parts availability and better access to expert help across the east coast of Australia.

“It’s been a great working relationship, and as the forestry industry continues through this buoyant period, I’m looking forward to celebrating further milestones with RDO Equipment and our customers.”
