RDO to relocate Toowoomba branch in 2024

New state-of-the-art dealership will be built in the Aatlis Precinct which already houses a number of other regional and agri-businesses

RDO Equipment, leading local dealer of John Deere and Vermeer heavy equipment, has announced it will be moving its Toowoomba outpost from its current location on Carrington Road in Toowoomba’s CBD to a bigger and more modern space in FKG Group’s Aatlis Precinct, situated just 10 minutes’ drive from its current premises.

According to RDO Equipment CEO, Phil Canning, the investment is part of the company’s strategy to provide a network of world-class facilities across key regional locations, and is a sign of the company’s commitment to the wider Darling Downs region.

“Toowoomba is the heart of regional south-east Queensland, and RDO Equipment is proud to be a part of and support the region’s diverse agricultural production and infrastructure developments,” he said.

“We’re extremely excited to be building a new state of the art workshop and dealership in this key distribution hub. We’ll be ideally situated to allow for the growth of the construction side of our business and respond to current and future needs and opportunities in the agricultural and infrastructure sectors.”

The RDO Toowoomba dealership, one of RDO Equipment’s largest, has a broad and deep customer base which extends from lawn mower customers to large agricultural and, more recently, construction equipment.

Besides John Deere and Vermeer, customers in Toowoomba are offered a suite of complementary brands including Horsch, Manitou and Kuhn.

According to RDO Equipment, the new, purpose-built facilities, designed by FKG, will hold a growing range of construction, agriculture, turf, and utility equipment to cater for the needs of its customers.

The new building will also house support staff currently located away from the branch.

“We have a dedicated team that supports our 29 locations with crucial functions in parts and service, accounts and finance, human resources, training, precision agriculture and IT. Nearly 50 of them are based in Toowoomba and are looking forward to moving into their own area in the new facilities,” Canning added.

In addition to RDO Equipment’s new Toowoomba branch, the Aatlis Precinct is also home to a range of other businesses including Nuseed, Boral, BP, Lowes Petroleum and will also house a new AgriFood Connect Innovation Centre in partnership with the University of Queensland and Telstra.

“We’re very pleased to have attracted such a significant national business like RDO Equipment just when we had released Stage Two of our industrial land subdivision, and we hope that their presence in the Precinct will attract other similar businesses,” said Jack Gardner, Group Manager of the FKG Group’s Development arm.

FKG will break ground on RDO Equipment’s new Toowoomba branch towards the end of the year, with completion expected by early 2024.
