With its annual mid-year auctions looming, Ritchie Bros. is promising over $18 million worth of machinery at both its Brisbane and Geelong auction sites.
This year, the company is doing things a bit differently by spreading out its auction dates instead of holding both in the same week.
"The changes have been hugely popular with our customers, with some making the decision to consign inventory to both auctions," says Ritchie Bros. Director of Sales for Asia Pacific, Finlay Massey.
"Consignments to date are more than $18 million, with almost half of that signed in the last week."
This year, the Brisbane auction will be held on June 15 while the Geelong auction will happen on July 6.
According to Massey, there is currently a high demand for heavy machinery due to a construction boom in the country.
"Our construction customers are consigning with Ritchie Bros. because they know that with these market conditions, we’re going to get them the best result," he adds.
"Anyone who is considering realizing the value of their assets should do so now. The market is right, demand is high, and auctions will provide the best possible outcome."
Ritchie Bros. Asia Pacific marketing manager, David Fanning, says customers who attend the auctions can expect to see a wide range of machinery, including trucks, excavators, tractors, wheel loaders and more.
"We’re seeing increased demand across the board, from all major industries including construction, transport, and agriculture," he says.
"And people want the equipment yesterday."
Ritchie Bros. is expecting to attract over 4000 buyers, both local and international, attending the auctions in person over the two events.
Interested customers who cannot attend the auctions physically can also view the auctions and bid live on Ritchie Bros. website. For more information on the auctions or on consigning your items with Ritchie Bros., visit rbauctions.com.
