Semco releases Yamaguchi tracked dumpers

Japanese mini dumpers ideal for moving material around confined work sites

The Yamaguchi range of tracked mini dumpers will now be available in Australia via heavy machinery dealership, Semco Equipment Sales.

The tracked dumpers are designed and manufactured in Japan, and are all powered by Kubota diesel engines.

Semco’s Graham Murphy said the company decided to bring in the dumper range to fill a gap in the market segment.

“Our experience in distributing and supporting quality Japanese-made equipment like our Takeuchi excavator and compact loader range has given us a clear preference for selling Japanese manufactured earthmoving equipment,” he said.

“Yamaguchi’s reputation for quality engineering meets our need to supply high-quality, reliable equipment to demanding customers, particularly those in the rental market, where we see the major potential for these versatile machines.”

The dumpers, available in walk-behind or ride-on configurations, are ideal for use on sites where space is an issue.

“With their narrow width and functionality more akin to a wheelbarrow, they can be safely driven through very tight alleyways and other spaces often encountered by contractors working on high density inner-city redevelopment or basement sites,” Murphy said.

“With their all-terrain tracks and a choice of models, together with swivel and high lift options, these handy dumpers can save backbreaking work and speed up the material movement cycle.”

The Yamaguchi range of machines have a low centre of gravity due to its track design and configuration, therefore offering great stability, Semco said.

The tracks exert low ground pressure which minimises risk on sites where infrastructure such as gas, irrigation, water lines, electricity and other services may lie close to the surface.

Another benefit with tracks is their ability to traverse construction trenches with ease which is impossible for wheeled machines to do without the placement of bridging.

The Yamaguchi tracked loader range includes two pedestrian operated models: the 380kg WB06 TrackBarrow which carries a payload of 600 kg and can fit through a 780mm wide opening; and the 465kg WB06 HL high lift TrackBarrow with a payload of 600kg which can fit through a 725mm wide opening and lift the payload up to 1320mm for tipping.

Ride-on models start with the 510kg WB07 TrackDumper with a load capacity of up to 700kg and is capable of fitting through an 880mm wide aperture. Moving up the range, the WB12 model is capable of hauling 1200kg and travelling through openings as small as 1000mm. It also has the added feature of 3-way tipping.

The top-of-the-range WB18 DTB TrackDumper carries a 1800 kg payload which can be discharged in any direction via a tip/swivel action. Despite its size, this model has a dry weight of 1380kg and exerts only 18.61kPa ground pressure when empty, Semco said.

Semco added the Yamaguchi track loaders are ideal for the rental market due to their ease of operation and low maintenance.
