Takeuchi distribution shifts after 26 years with Semco

Toyota Material Handling Australia has taken over Takeuchi sales, parts and service

Semco Group has stepped away from distributing Takeuchi equipment in Australia after more than two decades, with Toyota Material Handling Australia now handling the brand following the April 1, 2026 transition.

Semco has represented the Japanese compact equipment brand locally since 1999, helping establish Takeuchi as a major player in Australia’s construction machinery market.

Under the new arrangement, Toyota Material Handling Australia will assume responsibility for national sales, parts and service support, marking a significant shift in how the brand is managed locally.

Semco Group CEO, Steve Zivkovich, acknowledged the milestone, thanking customers, dealers and partners who have supported the business and the brand over the past 26 years.

“It has been a privilege to build long-standing relationships across the industry and to support our customers with equipment, parts and service over that time,” he said.

Zivkovich added that ensuring continuity for customers would be the priority during the transition, with confidence Toyota Material Handling Australia would continue supporting the network into the future.

Semco confirmed it will work closely with both Takeuchi and Toyota Material Handling Australia in the coming months to ensure a smooth handover for customers, dealers and partners.
