Takeuchi unveils first vertical-lift loader

Delivers up to 45 per cent greater operating capacity over the current TL12 radial-lift model, Takeuchi claims

Japanese machinery manufacturer Takeuchi has unveiled its first ever compact loader with vertical lift, which the company claims is the "largest and most powerful machine in its class".

Weighing just under six tonnes, Takeuchi's TL12V2 vertical-lift compact loader features a ground-up design with heavier-duty engineering, a new cab and new undercarriage.

A Kubota 3.8-litre diesel engine with an output of 110hp that is compliant with US EPA Final Tier 4 and EU Stage IV emissions standards powers the TL12V2.

New tracks on the model feature a tread pattern that reduces noise and vibration while producing greater flotation, according to Takeuchi.

A new contact pad between the roller and track was added to enhance ride quality and reduce vibration, while increased track length provides larger ground contact for better stability and ride quality, Takeuchi says.

Integrated cross members and a fully welded frame come standard for increased strength while a ROPS and FOPS level 2 roof guard offers protection for the operator.

The cabin has been widened by 77mm and is considerably quieter and more spacious, Takeuchi adds.

Inside, eight air-conditioning vents evenly spread cabin temperature while the high-back suspension seat and precision pilot controls allow for comfortable all-day operation.

A new 5.7-inch colour display connected to a rear camera lets operators monitor the machine's performance.

Operators are also able to select engine function, adjust horsepower and select level of hydraulic flow via the dash panel.

Takeuchi designers have lowered the boom arm cross member to ensure better visibility.

An electrical harness that runs down the loader's frame and plugs into the hand control lets operators control a range of attachments that require electrical functions such as a tilting dozer blade, laser blade or a profiler.

Other standard features include high-flow hydraulics, a hydraulic quickhitch for quick changing of attachments and a Ride Control feature for a smoother ride.

Takeuchi says key elements of the new vertical-lift loader will be incorporated into its radial-lift machines as well.
