Construction equipment specialist Terex has added two new models to its backhoe loader range – the TLB990 and TLB890, each powered by a 100hp liquid-cooled engine.
It features a series of upgrades compared to previous models that, according to Terex, makes them "versatile and powerful machines."
The rear axles on both models have been redesigned to incorporate a heavy-duty hydraulic power braking system that holds the machine in position on steep grades. This system acts on all four wheels in transport mode for safer braking in all conditions.
A redesigned curve boom delivers a reach of 5877mm and dig depth of 4442mm, while a new inner slide extending dipperstick delivers fast working cycles for rapid bucket filling, Terex says. The 'banana' boom design also helps lower the overall height of the machine when on the road.
The side-shift and boom swing tower are built from high quality cast steel, with two double-acting slewing rams with a cushioned end-stroke designed to provide smooth slewing.
A front fold-over fork is optional and ready to be installed with the 1.2 cubic-metre capacity factory four-in-one bucket with mounting bosses built-in. Standard anti-drop valves at the front and rear allow operators to carry out forklift jobs or handle suspended loads safely.
The backhoe parking lock is switch-activated and locks both the boom park and swing functions securely for transportation.
A new, cast hard-nose counterweight has been added to the Terex TLB990 and TLB890. This gives the machines a smoother ride and better balance, in addition to providing more robust protection for engine components. The standard Ride Control works in unison with the anti-drop valve system, which covers loader and backhoe functions.
An air suspension operator's seat comes standard across the range with various adjustments to suit the needs of each individual operator. A wider cabin design offers plenty of legroom and room for movement inside the cab.
Due to a lower radiator and hardnose design, visibility out the front of the machine is now excellent, adds Terex.
A two-way selectable pattern control system allows operators to switch from 'ISO excavator' to 'backhoe' option easily and quickly. The 'backhoe' setting alters the sensitivity of the VDAP pump so the operator still gets predictable performance.
Dashboard controls mounted on the right-hand side of the cab can be easily viewed from either loader or backhoe position.
Terex adds maintenance points and filters on both machines have been grouped together and placed within easy reach under a two-stage catch-and-release bonnet for fuss-free regular maintenance.
The new Terex TLB890 and TLB990 backhoe loaders as well as Terex's full range of equipment is distributed in Australia by Semco Group. Find out more about Terex's new backhoe range at: semcogroup.com.au.
