For years, the hunky Australian Firefighters Calendar has become a staple in Australian households but in 2021, things are about to become bigger and bulkier, quite literally.
In a bid to raise mental health awareness among blue-collar workers, tradies from Goulburn Valley Plaster Products in Shepparton, Victoria, have ventured out of their comfort zones to pose for the the Inaugural Real Tradie Calendar.
The project aims to support the work of the This Is A Conversation Starter (TIACS) Foundation, a mental health awareness organisation providing Australians with accessible and free mental health support.
The calendar features a collection of hilarious (and slightly disturbing) shots of real tradies striking model poses or doing some questionable things such as snoozing on the job after a few beers.
It’s a simple reminder to live, laugh and simply not take ourselves too seriously.
"We asked our tradies if they wouldn't mind having their photo taken for a calendar, and when they heard that it was to help raise awareness for mental health they jumped at the chance,” said GV Plaster Products General Manager, Brad Hanson.
“They understand the importance of raising awareness for mental health, so it was great to have them jump on board and have some fun in the spotlight.”
The calendar costs $25 and can be ordered online.
