Thwaites appoints AHS Group as Australian distributor

AHS Group has been appointed the sole Australian distributor for British site dumper manufacturer Thwaites, taking over the role previously held by Earthmoving Equipment Australia (EEA).

The new distribution agreement took effect on September 1, 2026, with AHS Group now responsible for the sale and support of the full Thwaites site dumper range in Australia.

The range includes compact, hi-tip, front tip and power swivel dumpers, along with ROPS+ and cabbed models and all-electric machines.

Payload capacities span from one to nine tonnes.

Thwaites manufactures its site dumpers at its factory in Leamington Spa in the UK, with its machines currently sold in more than 70 countries.

Under the new arrangement, customers will have access to Thwaites machines, parts and servicing through AHS Group’s six branches across New South Wales, stretching from the Mid North Coast to the Victorian border and west to Parkes.

Thwaites general manager sales, Andy Sabin, said AHS Group’s branch network and aftersales capabilities were key factors behind the appointment.

“This is a key appointment for Thwaites,” Sabin said.

“The strategic siting of AHS Group's six locations across New South Wales gives contractors and hirers great access to the quality range of Thwaites dumpers, backed by the exceptional local experience its first-class parts and service teams deliver.”

AHS Group CEO, Chris Pennells, said the addition of Thwaites would complement the dealer’s existing construction and agricultural machinery offering.

Originally founded as Australian Hammer Supplies in 1989, AHS Group has grown from a hydraulic hammer specialist into a major NSW machinery dealership.

Its construction equipment portfolio already includes Kubota compact excavators and loaders, as well as CASE construction machinery including excavators, graders, rollers and wheel loaders.

Thwaites export manager, Dave Webster, said the manufacturer was looking forward to working with AHS Group’s sales, service and parts teams.

AHS Group replaces EEA as Thwaites’ Australian distributor after EEA represented the British manufacturer locally for around a decade.
