Shining a light on the future of the global construction industry, Volvo Construction Equipment says it will host a ‘one of a kind’ display at the upcoming CONEXPO trade fair, which is billed as North America’s largest construction show and is due to held in Las Vegas over March 14 to 18.
Over a sprawling 55,000 square feet (5100 square metres), the Volvo CE display will host two arenas where attendees can test drive the brand’s electric excavators and wheel loaders, along with a ‘Solutions Hall’ dedicated to cutting-edge services and technology, plus static displays of the new 23-ton EC230 Electric mid-size excavator and DD25 Electric asphalt compactor.
Various autonomous concepts will also feature, along with the world’s first hydrogen fuel cell articulated hauler and remote-control vehicles, which all aim to help customers reach their own efficiency and carbon-reduction goals.
Volvo CE’s new series of excavators will also be revealed, along with the upgraded L350 wheel loader.
“We are committed to being a fossil-free company by 2040, but words do not reach targets,” said Melker Jernberg, President of Volvo CE.
“Only moving from words to action will. There is no time to waste and that’s why we say ‘Change Starts Here’, because as we are demonstrating, technology is developing fast and that’s where ‘Be Ready for It’ comes in.
“At CONEXPO we want to help our customers be prepared for the change by showcasing our wide range of commercially available electric machines packaged with related charging infrastructure and other sustainable power alternatives.”
