Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) is set to have its most expansive display yet at the upcoming CONEXPO trade show in Las Vegas, where the company will be taking up almost 60,000 square-feet of show space and presenting over 30 machines and a range of technologies and services.
The key attraction at Volvo CE's stand will be its largest excavator yet – the EC950F crawler excavator weighing an impressive 90 tonnes. It is equipped with a Volvo D16 Tier 4 Final engine producing 603hp of power for the toughest of applications, the company said.
It features a highly efficient hydraulic system that Volvo CE said delivers constant high pressures across each phase of the digging and lifting cycle. It comes with a boom-swing priority valve which adjusts the priority of hydraulic flow between boom-up and swing so truck loading cycle times can be set to truck loading working conditions.
The EC950F comes with an ECO mode to help it achieve greater fuel efficiency. An integrated work mode with four selections: I (Idle), F (Fine), G (General) and H (Heavy) lets operators choose the best mode for the task at hand.
For higher versatility, the attachment management system can store settings for up to 20 different attachments, enabling the operator to pre-set hydraulic flow and pressure through the in-cab monitor.
The machine comes with a range of smart features such as the optional Dig Assist – powered by Volvo Co-pilot, to help operators dig more efficiently. A rear-view camera comes standard on the EC950F with operators having the option to fit it with the Volvo Smart View feature which provides 360-degree vision around the machine.
In addition to the EC950F excavator, Volvo CE will be exhibiting a range of new products at CONEXPO 2020 including the R100E rigid hauler, the EC300E hybrid excavator, P5110B tracked and P5170B wheeled pavers, as well as two concept models which highlight the company’s commitment to innovation and an electric, automated and sustainable future.
CONEXPO, North America's largest construction trade show and one of the largest of its kind in the world, will be held in Las Vegas from March 10 to 14.
